What is an Asbestos Re-Inspection?

An Asbestos Re-Inspection is a periodic visual inspection of all known or assumed asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) listed in your current asbestos register.

An asbestos re-inspection is a follow-up site visit where an independent asbestos consultant:

  • Re-assesses asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) already identified in your building.
  • Checks for any changes in condition, damage, or deterioration.
  • Updates your asbestos register and management plan.
  • Provides a written re-inspection report that meets WorkSafe NZ compliance requirements.

The finds are then used to update your asbestos register and management plan.

If you'd workplace or property has an existing Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) and asbestos register, you're required to carry out regular asbestos inspections to ensure the condition of the asbestos materials hasn't changed.
